Graduate Online - Melbourne was the original startup initiative by the University of Melbourne to focus on online learning for post-graduate courses and masters degrees. As the Graphic Designer at GO-Melb I was tasked with everything from prototyping digital learning material as well as recreating graphical assets for online media where necessary to wireframing the intranet website and staff directory.

While establishing the GO-Melb brand and style internally, I was assigned the creative task of designing a series of posters that would represent the 7 core principles of GO-Melb. The brief was pretty open-ended and apart from a colour palette to work with, it was both creatively challenging and daunting at the same time. I drew a lot of inspiration from the International Typographic Style or Swiss Style for these designs as I wanted to use minimalism, shapes and sans serif typography. I also designed some very subtle progression within each of the posters, where the shapes themselves had connotation to a number as well as where the shapes transformed from simple to 3D shapes.

These graphics and final design were intended to be used for internal stationery, stickers, t-shirts and posters around the office. However, the only final end product that were actually produced were large hanging banners that hung from the cathedral ceilings of the Elisabeth Murdoch building.
